There’s a certain confidence that comes from someone who has lived a full and varied life, and Greg brings exactly that as he launches James Home Services Lawn and Garden Care – Pimpama. Greg believes customer service isn’t a buzzword—it’s the whole foundation of a successful business. For Greg, growth comes from giving people a consistently good experience, built on clear communication, reliability, punctuality, safe practices and quality workmanship that reflect real value. It’s a practical, honest approach that aligns perfectly with the ethos of James Home Services.

Greg’s journey to this new chapter has taken him through business ownership, marine industry contracting, commercial horticulture, and even a two-year stretch living aboard a sailing catamaran while exploring Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. His return to Australia saw him working as a self-employed contractor in the fibreglass and marine sector—work he enjoyed for its independence and challenge. He as recently reassessed what he wants for his future and the lifestyle balance or owning his own business appealed coupled with opportunity to return to horticulture—his earlier passion—felt not just possible but right.

Greg now services Pimpama, Alberton, Coomera, Gilberton, Jacobs Well, Kingsholme, Norwell, Stapylton, Steiglitz, Willowvale and Woongoolba, offering lawn mowing, edging, hedge trimming, garden tidy-ups and ongoing maintenance with the kind of attention to detail you only get from someone who genuinely enjoys the work. His background as a commercial grower in New Zealand means he understands plants far beyond the surface—nutrient health, pests, diseases, soil and hydroponic behaviours, safe chemical handling and more. He takes pride in noticing the little things that can make a garden thrive and enjoys sharing that knowledge with customers when it helps them. His philosophy is simple: listen first, then do the job well enough that the customer wants you back—and recommends you to others.

Outside of work, Greg has always had a strong connection to sport and community. Over 25 years he’s been involved in tennis clubs and district committees, junior coaching, senior rugby team management, Colts coaching, and even spent time as assistant coach for the Sunshine University U14 rugby team. He’s supported local volunteer fire services, contributed to business associations and has been the kind of person who steps in where communities need willing hands. He still enjoys a casual game of tennis or golf and continues to maintain much of his catamaran himself—a reminder of the years spent travelling across oceans and coastlines.

Stepping into this new role isn’t just about building a business; it’s also about finding fulfilment in working outdoors again. He enjoys the satisfaction of leaving a lawn neat or a garden refreshed, knowing the customer will see the difference immediately. He also values the flexibility it gives him to schedule work around family commitments and travel.
