In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at what you can expect in the first twelve weeks of owning a James Home Services franchise, including on-the-job training, regular coaching, team meetings, and access to support from the Regional Franchisor and your practical trainer. And we’ll also hear from franchisees who have gone through this process and can share their insights and experiences.

We make sure you have all of your equipment and are set up correctly.

We already organised the equipment and products you’ll need to operate your business…so at commencement of training we’ll check that you’ve received it and are set up correctly. This includes everything from your business cards, your vehicle or trailer signage, and uniforms to have you looking the part from day one.

We also make sure you’ve completed the list of things that we can’t do for you but that need to happen before you start trading in your business… such as applying for an ABN, registering your business name, setting up bank accounts and accounting software, insurance, GST, and BAS.

We train you to operate a successful business.

There are two types of training you’ll attend over two weeks. First, our business training where we teach you how to run your business, administration, marketing, and business systems. This is three days jam packed with the key steps to follow in our network, to be successful. We also offer the services of a bookkeeper who can help you set up your accounting software and train you to use it effectively.

The second part of your training is hands on practical training. You will spend 4 days working alongside an experienced franchisee to learn about their daily routines, the challenges they face, and the strategies they use to overcome them. This is an opportunity to see the systems and processes they have in place to ensure their businesses run smoothly and efficiently. Afterward, your practical trainer is there for you to call or meet with at team networking and training events so you can continue your learning.

And while you’re training, we begin a targeted digital marketing campaign in your area to drive customer enquiry to your business!

At James Home Services we know that your formal training is just the beginning of your business journey. Ongoing training and coaching are vital for your success. You will meet with your Regional Franchisor regularly for the first twelve weeks, to ensure you stay on track and avoid common pitfalls. Coaching and training are tailored to your needs and will include the James Home Services business management software, a platform that gives you all the tools to measure your business performance and manage client information. Other training may include practical marketing strategies such as setting up your Google Business Profile, how to market your business on social media or budgeting and understanding your business costs.
