Meet Sonya, our Regional Franchisor for Far North Queensland, supporting franchisees across Cairns the Atherton Tablelands and Mareeba. Sonya loves working with people! Helping others to grow their businesses and succeed both professionally and personally is what gets Sonya out of bed in the morning.
The role of the Regional Franchisor is critical.
Navigating the modern world of business can be daunting. As the first point of contact for franchisees in their James’ business, Sonya assists with training in business systems, marketing, workplace health and safety, recruitment, and all aspects of business coaching to help each franchisee achieve their goals.

One-on-one coaching, tailored to the specific needs of each franchisee is one of the services Sonya provides her franchisees. When she’s not interacting with franchisees, Sonya oversees brand awareness marketing and administration for the region, she connects with care agencies and other local businesses to help to grow the James Home Services brand in Cairns and Far North Queensland.
Two decades of hands-on training and mentoring have bolstered Sonya’s belief in team and the power of ‘together we achieve more’. She ensures that franchisees have access to networking and training and the enviable suite of business resources available through the James Home Services network.

With 13 years in the franchise sector, Sonya believes that successful franchisees share three essential qualities; they follow the proven business system, they seek guidance and mentoring, and they connect regularly with the broader team.

Sonya has an extensive background in customer service with experience in Small Business Development, Human Resources and Program Management across the Human Services sector. Her philosophy is that “drawing on our past knowledge & experience is important, but if we want to determine our future, we must be willing to learn, adapt and build new habits – and that’s not easy! I guess this is why I enjoy working with our franchisees, there’s always something new to learn and apply and it’s a privilege to walk that journey with people.”
